Centering Prayer

Centering Prayer is a form of contemplative prayer: a practice of silent prayer that prepares us to receive God’s presence within us. A Centering Prayer Group has been meeting in the hall at St Swithuns every other week for 2 years. The group also practices Lectio Divina (Holy Reading)  – a particular way of approaching the word of God experienced in the Bible. Both these practices are very ancient forms of prayer and are proving increasingly popular as people seek new spiritual pathways.

For more general information see the website of Contemplative Outreach. And for information about the Group please ring 01308 459587 or 01297 489683.
