Times are tough for some Bridport folk at the moment and Cupboard Love is an initiative of the Bridport Team for a helping, loving hand to families and individuals who need a little bit of extra support and TLC to see them through. Volunteers gathered to help pack hampers of food for Christmas one evening recently and very quickly goody bags including what was needed for a Christmas lunch were collected together. The items have been donated by local people, purchased through donations of money (the majority anonymous) or through the wonderful support of our local Lidl’s who enable a regular collection of food stuffs. Thanks to our local Waitrose for allowing collecting bins outside the store on a Saturday earlier this month. Thanks too to the staff and customers of Barclay’s Bank in Bridport who filled a huge shopping trolley with food items and the 93 year old lady who has knitted teddies which have been included in stockings for some of our local children. If you would like to support Cupboard Love please contact Chris Newton-Evans on 01308 422138.
