Bishop Graham Kings, Bishop of Sherborne, came along to St. Mary’s on Wednesday 20th November to begin a series of talks from visiting speakers on the theme of ‘Art Reflections’. His chosen theme was ‘Annunciation’ (when the Archangel visited Mary to tell her that she would carry God’s son). To illustrate his talk Bishop Graham brought two paintings which he has had specially commissioned on the role of women leaders in the New Testament. An interested audience engaged with both the Bishop and the pictures.
Art Reflections is part of a special programme of adult education run by the Lyme Bay Deanery. The next meeting in the series is at St. Mary’s on Monday 9th December when local Christian artist Chris Higham will be talking about some of his work. The talk is from 19.00 to 20.30 hours.
